I met Cino G through his cousin Pumpkin the Hootlum. Together they make up Georgia Mafia. We all came together at a record store owned by Thomas Ware on Metropolitan Blvd behind the McDonalds. Cino G going solo was never really planned, but happened because Punpkin the Hootum got arrested for Murder and went to jail. One of the songs on the album is an actual phone call from Wright St Jail.
It didn’t take us too long to record the album and Cino always had a way to push everyone around him to do their best. We are always in Pittsburg, and Cino was always around his family. I really wanted to make more music with Cino but the business got in our way. Looking back at everything we should have learned what we needed to learn and kept going. Cino’s lyrical flow in my opinion is still unmatched.
As black men, we have to learn how to resolve conflict for the bigger picture. Team work is the only way to win big so pick your team wisely and go hard.
